Mott Community College's Fred Mattison has been named the MCCAA Eastern Conference Player of the Year. Mattison averaged 18.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Mattison help lead the Bears to their third straight National Tournament appearance. Glen Oaks Community College William Powell was named the MCCAA Western Conference Player of the Year. Powell averaged 20.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 steals to lead the Vikings to the Western Conference Championship.
The top five players in each conference earn All-Region and All-MCCAA honors, the top six players are First Team All-Conference. Mikquell Jakcson of Wayne County Community College District, Aaron Hayes of Oakland Community College, St. Clair County Community College's Johnnie Mills and Jojuan Graham of Delta College were the Eastern Conference member of the All-Region, All-MCCAA team. Austin Shell of St. Clair County rounded out the First Team All-Conference honorees.
Tyrin Wade of Lansing Community College, Grand Rapids Community College's Alex Mustert, Larry Taylor of Jackson Community College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College's Daequan Mitchell-Fields were the Western Conference members of the All-Region, All-MCCAA team. Antonio Wilson of Glen Oaks Community College rounded out the Western Conference First Team.
Kory Billups of Mott Community College was named Eastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year, while Tyler Bell of Glen Oaks was the Defensive Player of the Year in the Western Conference. Nathan Taylor of Kellogg Community College was named Freshman of the Year in the Western Conference, while Mikquell Jackson of Wayne County CCD was Eastern Conference Player of the Year.
Steve Proefrock of Glen Oaks Community College was tabbed as Western Conference Coach of the Year and Rogeric Turner of Wayne County CCD was Eastern Conference Coach of the Year. Steve Schmidt of Mott CC was the MCCAA Coach of the Year.
