Women's Basketball - Wed, Feb. 3, 2016

The Schoolcraft College women' basketball team is ranked fifth in the NJCAA Division II women's basketball poll for the fifth straight week. The Ocelots, who are 21-1 overall and 9-0 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference, defeated St. Clair County Community College, Macomb Community College and Alpena Community College. They are currently riding a ten game winning streak. They will return to action tonight when the face Wayne County Community College District in Detroit. 

Men's Basketball - Tue, Feb. 2, 2016

The Lansing Community College men's basketball dropped three spots this week to number four in this week's NJCAA Division II men's basketball poll. The Stars, who are 20-2 overall and 8-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference, lost to Muskegon Community College before defeating Ancilla College and Jackson College to end the three game week. They are off until Friday night when they travel to Benton Harbor, MI to face Lake Michigan College in a key MCCAA Western Conference match-up. 

MCCAA - Thu, Jan. 28, 2016

What started as a drive by Delta College to collect Water for Flint when they hosted Mott Community College last week as grown into a movement by several Michigan Community College Athletic Association schools to collect bottle water for the Michigan city. Flint, MI is currently going through a crisis where the water is unusable for drink or other purposes due to lead in the water.

Softball - Thu, Jan. 28, 2016

The defending MCCAA softball championship Kellogg Community College is in the other school receiving votes in the NJCAA Division II pre-season softball poll. The Bruins finished last season with 37-13 overall record and won the MCCAA Western Conference with a 27-5 record. They posted a 1-2 record in the NJCAA District I Softball Tournament. The MCCAA Western Conference schedule kicks of on March 25.
