MCCAA - Mon, Jun. 8, 2015

Former Kalamazoo Valley Community College women's basketball coach Ron Welch was announced at the annual MCCAA summer meeting at Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire, MI as a recipient of the NCAA Distinguished Service Award. Welch, who retire this season after is the first person in three years to receive the award. Dick Shilts, former Kalamazoo Valley Athletic Director, was the last person to receive the award in 2011.

Schoolcraft College athletic director Sid Fox has been named Michigan Community College Athletic Director of the Year for the 2014-2015 school year. Fox was honored by the association for his hard work with the Ocelots athletic program. He also serves as the MCCAA sports chair for men's soccer. 

Softball - Thu, Jun. 4, 2015

Five MIchigan Community College Athletic Association softball players have earned NJCAA Division II softball All-American honors. Four players earned Second Team All-American Honors and one other player earned Third Team All-American Honors. 

MCCAA - Thu, Jun. 4, 2015

The Macomb Community College athletic department has won the 2014-15 Charlie Chanter MCCAA sports award for the first time in school history. The Monarch finished the year with a 91.58 average for their seven sports.  Schools are awarded 100 points for winning a conference or MCCAA Championship. They are also awarded bonus points for winning for finishing runner-up in MCCAA Tournaments.
