            <description>&lt;p&gt;The Grand Rapids Community College baseball team, fresh off their Region XII baseball tournament championship, has debuted in the top 20 at number 11 this week. This is the Raiders first appearance in the regular season baseball poll this season. The Raiders were ranked 17th in the pre-season poll and are 39-22 overall and finished with a 19-7 record in the MCCAA. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <title>[Baseball] Grand Rapids CC defeats Macomb twice advances to Nationals</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;The Grand Rapids Community College baseball team won two games in ond day and four in a row to advance to the NJCAA Division II Nationals in Enid, OK. &amp;nbsp;The Raiders defeated Macomb 13-0 in the first championship game before winning 6-5 in 10 innings to win the NJCAA Region XII basball tournament. &amp;nbsp;Macomb scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth with two out to send the game to extra innings. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <title>[Softball] Mott CC advances to National tournament with walk off win</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;The Mott Community College women&amp;#39;s softball team used a Briana Hicks four hitter and a timely hit to beat Macomb Community College 1-0 in the NJCAA District H Championship game and advance to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Clinton, MS. &amp;nbsp;Ashley Mosseau singled to left field with the base loaded in the bottom of the seventh to drive in Hicks and win the game 1-0. &amp;nbsp;Hicks went 7 innings allowing just four hits, one walk and struck out nine, she also went two for two at the plate. &amp;nbsp;Mikayla Smith was the only other Bear with two hits. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <title>[Softball] Muskegon CC softball wins NJCAA District G softball tournament; advances to Nationals</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;The Muskegon Community College women&amp;#39;s softball team used a seven run fifth inning to propel them to a 9-2 win over Kalamazoo Valley Community College in the if necessary game of the NJCAA District G Softball Tournament. &amp;nbsp;After Kalamazoo Valley won the first championship game 12-9, the Jayhawks use a home run Deanna Stickler to power the seven run innings. &amp;nbsp;Caitlin Callow pitched 7 innings, scattering 11 hits, allowing two runs, one earned, walking one and striking out five for the win. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <title>[Baseball] Macomb's Eisler named NJCAA Division II Player of the Week</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;Macomb Community College shortstop Stu Eisler has been named the NJCAA Division II Player of the Week. &amp;nbsp;Eisler batted .500 (9 for 18) on the week with a triple and three home runs. &amp;nbsp;He also walked six times and was hit by five pitches during the week. &amp;nbsp;Eisler had a .690 on base percentage to go with 12 RBI, eight runs and four stolen bases. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <title>[Men's Basketball] Mott's Taylor named Player of the Year; Schmidt named Coach of the Year</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;Mott Community College sophomore guard John Taylor has been named the NJCAA Division II men&amp;#39;s basketball Player of the Year. Taylor was the Pin Ryan award winner as the best player in Region XII and was All-Region, All-MCCAA and All-Conference. &amp;nbsp;The Chicago native help led the Bears to their fourth national championship in 10 years. &amp;nbsp;Taylor had 23 points and six assists as Mott beat the Community College of Rhode Island 70-60 in the National Championship game. &amp;nbsp;He was seventh in the nation in scoring with 24.9 points per game. &amp;nbsp;He led Mott with 4.1 assist per game. Taylor was named National Tournament MVP and was a First Team All-American Selection. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

The Cougars are 24-7 overall and 19-3 in the MCCAA Western Conference. &amp;nbsp;Muskegon Community College is in the others receiving votes category again this week. The Jayhawks are 33-8 overall and 24-4 in the MCCAA Western Conference. Both teams have qualified for the NJCAA District G softball tournament in May.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

The Bears have 37.87 ranking points this week. The ranking points take into account playing conditions, team scores and place finished in the tournaments. &amp;nbsp;Oakland Community College is ranked 21 this week with 39.20 rankings points.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;The Michigan Community College Athletic Association is proud to announce that three men&amp;#39;s basketball players have earned NJCAA All-American Honors. &amp;nbsp;John Taylor of Mott Community College earned NJCAA Division II First Team All-American Honors. &amp;nbsp;Taylor led the Bears to their fourth NJCAA Division II National Championship in ten years. &amp;nbsp;Nathan Duhon of Lansing Community College earned NJCAA Division II Second Team All-American Honors. &amp;nbsp;Duhon led the Stars to the MCCAA Western Conference Championship. &amp;nbsp;Jody Hill of Delta College earned NJCAA Division II Third Team All-America Honors. &amp;nbsp;Hill lead Delta College to the NJCAA District 9 semi-finals.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;The Michigan Community College Athletic Association is proud to announce that three women&amp;#39;s basketball players have earned NJCAA Division II First Team All-American honors. &amp;nbsp;Breauna Rivoli-Johnson of Lake Michigan College earned NJCAA Division II First Team All-American honors. Rivoli-Johnson led the Indians to a second place finish in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. &amp;nbsp; Dominique Mahone of Macomb Community College earned NJCAA Division II Third Team All-American honors. &amp;nbsp;Mahone help led the Monarchs to their first MCCAA Eastern Conference title since 1997-98. &amp;nbsp;Sudan Saunders of Muskegon Community College also earned NJCAA Division II Third Team All-American Honors. &amp;nbsp;Saunders helped the Jayhawks to a third place finish in the MCCAA Western Conference and runners-up in the NJCAA District G Tournament. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;Former Lake Michigan College and All-MCCAA pitcher Duane Below picked up his first major league win today in the Detroit Tigers 10-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox at Comerica Park today. &amp;nbsp;Below came in to releive starter Doug Fister who left the game in the top of the fourth with tightness in his side. &amp;nbsp;He went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing one hit and striking out two to earn the victory. &amp;nbsp;Below threw 21 strikes on 29 pitches in the outting. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;Former Lake Michigan College baseball standout pitcher Duane Below was on today&amp;#39;s opening day roster with the Detroit Tigers. &amp;nbsp;Below did not see action in the Tigers 3-2 win but he did end last season with the club. &amp;nbsp;Below appeared in 14 games last season, starting two and throwing 29 innings allowing 26 hits, 16 runs and 14 earned runs. &amp;nbsp;He walked 11 and struck out 14 batters and finished with a 4.34 ERA and was 0-2. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
