Grand Rapids Community College freshman outside hitter Kelsey Darling and Oakland Community College sophomore setter Lauren Maxwell have been named NJCAA Division II First Team All-Americans.  Darling hit at .610 percent with 224 kills in 256 attempts and 68 errors.  She also had two aces, nine digs and two assists for the Raiders, who finished seventh in the nation this year.  She also had 60 blocks while averaging 2.29 kills per set.  

The Oakland Community College women's volleyball team has come far in the five years since Bryan Lindstrom took over the program.  Prior to his arrival, Oakland had one .500 season in the record books.  Since he has got there, they have two Eastern Conference Volleyball titles, a MCCAA runner up and a NJCAA District E title to their credit.  Now they can add National Runners up to the list.  The second ranked Raiders lost a hard fought match to top ranked Cowley (KS) County Community College in four sets at the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Nationals.  

The eleventh ranked Grand Rapids Community College women's volleyball team defeated Metropolitan (MO) Community College-Longview to finish seventh at the NJCAA Division women's volleyball National Tournament.   The Raiders defeated the Lakers by scores of 28-26, 25-16 and 25-21.  Grand Rapids finishes the season with a 33-7 record.

The number two ranked Oakland Community College women's volleyball team moved one step closer to a National Championship by beating seventh ranked Kishwaukee (IL) College 25-23, 25-19, 25-20 in the semi-final match tonight.  The Raiders (41-3) will face top ranked Cowley (KS) County Community College (36-2) at 6:30 PM on Saturday at Owens Community College.  With the win over Kishwaukee (35-10), the Raiders will seek the school's first women's volleyball National Championship.  Oakland won the Division II Men's Basketball National Championship in 1987
