The Grand Rapids Community College baseball team, fresh of the Region XII Tournament Championship, broke into the top 20 this week at number 20.  The Raiders with an overall record of 27-26 will be traveling to Enid, OK in two weeks for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. They will open the tournament with number four Scottsdale (AZ) Community College on Saturday, May 25th. 

Kellogg Community College's sophomore pitcher Chad Mayle has been named MCCAA Player of the Year in a vote of conference coaches.  Mayle, who was 7-1 on the season, struck out 51 batters while walking 19 and allowing 11 runs (six earned) in 50 and 1/3 innings with a 1.07 ERA.  His only loss came to LSU-Eunice on the spring trip.  

The Grand Rapids Community College baseball team defeated Delta College 8-3 and 3-0 in the NJCAA Region XII Championship games to win the NJCAA Region XII Baseball Tournament.  The Raiders scored two runs in the second and three runs in the third of the first game to cruise to an 8-3 victory and force a second championship game. The big blow of the game was provided by Dylan VanPutten with a two run home run in the second inning. He went 3 for 3 with five RBI and a run scored. 

The Kellogg Community College baseball team has re-enter the NJCAA Division II baseball poll at number 18 this week, The Bruins are 22-14 overall and lead the MCCAA with a 16-4 conference record.
