Former Mott Community College (MCC) Baseball Bear Frank "Frankie" Ballard made the Billboard Top Country List with his
second album this year. Ballard's song "Helluva Life" made it to the Billboard Top Ten Country list for the 2013-2014 Chart.
It was released in July 2013 as the first single from Ballard's second studio album, Sunshine & Whiskey. The entire album was
released February 11, 2014.

Kalamazoo Valley Community College sophomore first baseman Nate Henckel has won the NJCAA Division II ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award.  Henckel had 253 putouts, 13 assists and no errors for a 1.000 fielding percentage.  He was also part of 21 double plays for the Cougars.

Kalamazoo Valley Community College freshman infielder Ryan Slaughter has earned the Marucci Baseball Elite Hitter Award for the Division II North District.  Slaughter hit .421 for the season.  The award is presented to the All-American nominee from each district with the highest batting average.

Delta College freshman outfield Greg Kazmierski has been named NJCAA Division II baseball Player of the Week. Kazmierski batted .654, going 17 for 26, with four doubles, a triple and a home run.  He also had five stolen bases, walked twice, scored 13 runs and collected 10 runs batted in for the week.  The Pioneers went 5-3 for the week.
