Recent Women's Basketball Headlines
Women's Basketball - Wed, Jul. 9, 2014

Kalamazoo Valley Community College women's basketball coach Ron Welch and his assistant/daughter Maureen Brown took an ice cold bath on Tuesday for charity.  The two coaches were challenged by Roxbury (MA) Community College coach Mar Leczczyk.  After being challenged, the person(s) challenged have 48 hours to post a video or donate money to the fund.  Welch and Brown took the challenge and donated $50 to the fund. 

Women's Basketball - Sun, Apr. 13, 2014

Delta College sophomore guard Taylor Mantyla has been named a NJCAA Division II women's basketball First Team All-American. Mantyla averaged 22.2 points and 9.5 rebound per game for the Pioneers. She also added 1.0 assist and 2.3 steals while leading the Pioneers to a second place finish in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. Delta also finished runners-up in the NJCAA District H women's basketball tournament. 

Women's Basketball - Wed, Feb. 26, 2014

The St. Clair County Community College women's basketball team moved up one spot to number six in the final NJCAA Division II women's basketball poll.  The Skippers are 24-2 overall and 17-0 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference and have won the MCCAA Eastern Conference Championship.  Kalamazoo Valley Community College moved up five spots to number 12 in this week's rankings.  The Cougars are 22-4 overall and 14-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference.  Lake Michigan College dropped seven spots to number 13.  The Red Hawks are 23-4 overall and 14-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference.  Delta College moved up one spot to number 14 this week. The Pioneers are 23-5 overall and 14-3 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference.

The Lake Michigan College women's basketball team moves up one spot to number six in this week's NJCAA Division II women's basketball poll. The Red Hawks are 22-3 overall and 13-0 in the MCCAA Western Conference.  St. Clair County Community College moved up one spot to number seven in this week rankings. The Skippers are 21-2 overall and 14-0 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference.  Delta College dropped one spot to number 15 in this week's rankings.  The Pioneers are 20-5 overall and 11-3 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference.  Kalamazoo Valley Community College held steady at number 17 this week. The Cougars are 20-4 overall and 12-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference.
