Longtime Kalamazoo Valley Community College women's basketball coach Ron Welch has been named to the NJCAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Welch coached the Cougars for 20 season and finished with a 432-178 record for his career. Kalamazoo Valley claimed three MCCAA titles and were in the MCCAA Championship game six times.

Grand Rapids Community College sophomore guard Deiona Rogers has been named NJCAA Division II Player of the Week for the week ending February 7. Rogers averaged 28.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game last week as the Raiders went 2-0.  The averaged 7.5 assists and 8.0 steals per game in 36 minutes per game. She was 20 of 37 from the floor and 5 of 12 from the three point arc. Grand Rapids defeated Muskegon Community College and Ancilla College last week. 

Women's Basketball - Wed, Feb. 10, 2016 at 1:05 PM

The Schoolcraft College women's basketball team fell three spots to number eight in this week's NJCAA Division II women's basketball poll. The Ocelots are 22-2 overall and 10-1 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference after beating Wayne County Community College District and losing to Oakland Community College last week. The loss snapped an eleven game win streak for Schoolcraft. They will return to action tonight when they face Henry Ford College in Dearborn, MI. 

Women's Basketball - Fri, Feb. 5, 2016

Oakland Community College sophomore guard Jasmine Parker was named NJCAA Division II women's basketball player of the week for the week ending January 31st. Parker averaged 30 points for three games, 8.7 rebounds, five assists and 3.7 steals as the Raiders went 3-0 on the week. She was 39-67 from the floor and 6 for 11 from the arc in 38.3 minutes per game.
