Women's Basketball - Thu, Apr. 11, 2013

Mott Community College sophomore guard/forward Porsha Fluker was named a NJCAA First Team Women's Basketball First Team All-American. Fluker averaged 16.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.7 steals per game for the Bears.  Fluker led the Bears to a 21-9 overall record and a fourth place finish in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. 

Women's Basketball - Sun, Mar. 24, 2013

The St. Clair County Community College men's basketball team finished fourth in NJCAA Division II after losing to host school Illinois Central College by the score of 70-51.  The Skippers (32-3) were led by Teisha Knott with 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks, while Lariah Stevens chipped in 13 points and five rebounds. The Cougars (32-4) were led by Helena Rodriguez with 21 points and four assists.  Knott was named to the All-Tournament team. 

Women's Basketball - Sun, Mar. 24, 2013

The Lake Michigan College women's basketball team fell to Owens (OH) CC 60-43 on Saturday in the NJCAA Division II women's basketball tournament consolation bracket championship at Illinois Central.  The Red Hawks (27-8) were led by Breana Rivoli-Johnson with 17 points, three rebounds and two steals.  Gloria Jeter added 12 points and seven rebounds. Owens (28-8) was led by Uniqua Mitchell with 17 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.  Lake Michigan finished in eighth place in the National this year.  

Women's Basketball - Fri, Mar. 22, 2013

Number one ranked Mesa (AZ) Community College used great three point shooting to defeat St. Clair County Community College in the NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Semi-final game by the score of 64-54.  The Skippers (32-2) trailed by as many as 19 points in the first half but use a run at the start of the second half to tie the game at 37-37.  The Thunderbirds (28-6) pulled away from that point to win by 10.  St. Clair was led by Teisha Knott with 18 points, seven rebounds, one block and one assist.  Cianna Peterson chipped in 15 points and two rebounds, while Sheyna Deans added 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists.  Mesa was led by Madison Austin with 18 points, five rebounds, two blocks and two assists. 

St. Clair County CC will now play host school Illinois Central College on Saturday at 6:00 PM in East Peoria, IL.
