In their first season, The Jayhawks qualified for the Region XII women's tournament. In the semi-finals they knocked off the number one seed Owens (OH) Community College on a goal with just 45 second left in the second half. In the Regional final, it appeared their season ended on a 1-0 loss to Delta College. Then came the news that Delta would have to forfeit their title due to an ineligible player and the Jayhawks were off to Nationals. Now they have broken into the the top 20 in the NJCAA Division I women's soccer rankings at number 19. They are 8-4-1 on the season and will face number one Brevard (FL) Community College in the first game of the National Tournament next week.
Fresh of their second consecutive Region XII Championship, the Delta College women's soccer team breaks into the top 20 in this week's NJCAA Division I soccer poll at number 16.
