Softball - Mon, Feb. 2, 2015

The Oakland Community College women's softball team is ranked 17th in the NJCAA Division II women's softball poll. The Raiders, who finished 29-17 overall and 16-4 MCCAA Eastern Conference. They won the District H Tournament and qualified for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament last season. They are picked to win NJCAA District J this season as the return 11 players including five starters.

DONALDSON, IN – Softball players Morgan Peoni (Franklin), Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) member, and Madyson Price (Logansport), PTK Vice-President are Ancilla College's 2014-2015 nominees to the All-USA/Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team. Phi Theta Kappa is a two-year college national honor society.

Three MCCAA softball players have earned NJCAA Division II softball All-American honors for the 2014 season. Sophomore outfielder Erin Glavin of Kalamazoo Valley Community College has been named a Second Team All-American honors.  Glavin batted .455 for the season with five double and a triple. She also had 14 RBI, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases for the Cougars, who won the NJCAA District G Softball Tournament and a trip to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

Oakland Community College freshman pitcher Manda Messer has been named NJCAA Division II pitcher of the week for the second straight week. Messer was 3-1 on the week with 20 strike outs and nine walks. She scattered seven hits in 17 innings, allowing one run which was earned. He had a 0.41 ERA for the week.
