Recent Women's Basketball Headlines
Women's Basketball - Tue, Apr. 10, 2012

The Michigan Community College Athletic Association is proud to announce that three women's basketball players have earned NJCAA Division II First Team All-American honors.  Breauna Rivoli-Johnson of Lake Michigan College earned NJCAA Division II First Team All-American honors. Rivoli-Johnson led the Indians to a second place finish in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.   Dominique Mahone of Macomb Community College earned NJCAA Division II Third Team All-American honors.  Mahone help led the Monarchs to their first MCCAA Eastern Conference title since 1997-98.  Sudan Saunders of Muskegon Community College also earned NJCAA Division II Third Team All-American Honors.  Saunders helped the Jayhawks to a third place finish in the MCCAA Western Conference and runners-up in the NJCAA District G Tournament.  

Women's Basketball - Sat, Mar. 24, 2012

The Lake Michigan College women's basketball team fought to the end but lost to Monroe (NY) College 78-73 in the NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship Game. The Indians took a 71-70 lead in the last two minutes on a three by Breauna Rivoli-Johnson but Monroe would outscore them 8-2 down the stretch.  

Women's Basketball - Fri, Mar. 23, 2012

The Lake Michigan College women's basketball advanced to NJCAA Division II National Championship game tomorrow night with a 69-63 win over number nine Kishwaukee (IL) College.  The Indians are led by Breauna Rivoli-Johnson with 31 points, 9 rebounds, four assists and five steals, while Jabri Hill added 19 points, five rebounds, one block and one steal.  Allsion Beard chipped in eight points as well.  Lake Michigan (30-4) will play the winner of the Louisburg (NC) College vs. Monroe (NY) College, tomorrow night at 8:30 PM EDT.

Women's Basketball - Wed, Mar. 21, 2012

The Lake Michigan College women's basketball team advance to the semi-finals of the NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Tournament with a 75-70 win over fellow Region XII foe Cincinnati (OH) State Technical &  Community College.  The Indians (29-4) were led by Breauna Rivoli-Johnson who had 31 points, three rebounds, four assists and four steals. Her biggest three points came on a three pointer with 50 seconds left in the game to give Lake Michigan College a 74-70 lead.  Jabria Hill added 21 points, seven points, two assists, three blocks and four steals.  Lake Michigan College will play Kishwaukee (IL) College Friday at 7 PM EDT.
