Delta College's Webber wins Dick Shilts Female Student-Athlete of the Year
Delta College sophomore women's soccer player Faith Webber has won the Dick Shilts Female Student-Athlete of the Year. Webber, who started 17 games for the Pioneers, scored 35 goals and had 12 assists as Delta College finished second in NJCAA Division III.
Delta College sophomore women's soccer player Faith Webber has won the Dick Shilts Female Student-Athlete of the Year. Webber, who started 17 games for the Pioneers, scored 35 goals and had 12 assists as Delta College finished second in NJCAA Division III. Seven of her goals were game winning goals. She helped lead the Pioneers to the NJCAA Division III National Championship in her freshman season. She was the MCCAA Women's Soccer Player of the Year and the 2021 National Championship Offensive Player of the Year. She also earned First Team All-MCCAA honors.
She has a 3.8 grade point average and is a two-time Academic All-Conference and All-MCCAA Award winner. She also earned Academic honors from the NJCAA last year.
Faith volunteers at youth soccer development camps, working at elementary school field days and working with Special Olympics. She is also a member of the Detroit City Women's Football Club and will play at Utah Valley State University next year.
The Dick Shilts Female Student-Athlete of the year is awarded to the athlete who excels not only on the field or the court but as well as in the classroom and in co-curricular activities.
Dick Shilts was the former Athletic Director at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and was the longest serving MCCAA President. He was the champion and person who helped bring about our individual MCCAA Academic Awards.
