Schoolcraft, Muskegon and Delta Ranked High in Respective Preseason Women’s Soccer Polls
The 2023 NJCAA Women's Soccer Preseason Polls were released Monday (Aug. 14) and three MCCAA schools checked in among the best nationally to begin the new season. Schoolcraft College paced all conference schools at the NJCAA Division II level after earning a preseason No. 7 ranking, while Muskegon Community College followed closely at No. 13 in the DII rankings.
In the Division III ranks, Delta College begins the 2023 campaign in the No. 4 spot nationally. Last season, the Pioneers posted a 14-1-2 record overall and an 11-1-2 mark in MCCAA play. The strong season ended with the Pioneers—the 2020 NJCAA Division III National Champions—making another deep run in the national tournament.
As for Schoolcraft, the Ocelots earned the No. 7 preseason rank thanks to a highly successful 2022 campaign that saw culminated in a national tournament berth. The Ocelots went 14-1-5 overall and were the lone unbeaten in league play at a 10-0-4 clip.
Muskegon enters the 2023 season 13th in Division II after tallying 10 wins a season ago. The Jayhawks went 10-4-3 overall, posted an 8-3-3 league record and were one of three programs to earn a Region XII Tournament berth in 2022.
