Macomb's Ava LaMilza is the MCCAA Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Macomb Community College freshman Ava LaMilza (Macomb, Mich./Dakota High School) is the MCCAA Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Sept. 10.

LaMilza had a strong performance in her first collegiate race at the Northwood University meet. She placed fifth out of 71 individual runners who hailed mostly from NCAA Division II and III programs, beating out 32 such runners with a 5-kilometer time of 19 minutes and 27.6 seconds.
